Poinsettia Heights

poinsettiaheights

Originally intended as a single family neighborhood, today, Poinsettia Heights still remains predominantly one story single family homes. It was formerly given the name of North Ridge by George Gill in the late 40s. Gill created seven different models for buyers to choose from all of them selling fairly quickly. Others purchased the empty lots and hired their own architects and designers which created the different styles seen today throughout the community.

Poinsettia Heights is surrounded by Middle River on the north, Federal highway on the east, NE 13th street on the south, and NE 15th avenue on the west and it is mostly laid out on an easy to follow grid. The community is also home to Lake Melva which offers those with homes on the water ocean access with only two fixed bridges. However, one of the main advantages of Poinsettia Heights is its location. Residents can easily walk to everyday shopping and stores like Barns and Noble, Whole Foods, and many others. Many residents of the community say that living in Poinsettia Heights is like living in Victoria Park but with an added pool.
