Lighthouse

Named after the Hillsboro Inlet lighthouse and formed in June of 1957, Lighthouse Point was originally a farmland and a mangrove infested area. In 1947, the first home was built in the corner of NE 21st Avenue and Sample Road by Juliette Becker. Since then, the city progressed every year with the first development called Hillsboro Isles. Between the late 50s and 60s, communities like Venetian Isles and Lighthouse Manors were added increasing the population to about 9,500 in the 70s.

With prime location in South Florida, the 2.4 square mile city boast a small town feels, and it wishes to remain that way. The residents of Lighthouse Point value at heart the privacy and intimacy that this city has to offer its residents. Lighthouse Point is perfect for boaters with over 18 miles of interconnecting waterways and ocean access.

The architecture of the city is primarily single family one story ranch homes with some of them preserving their original architecture from the 50s and 60s. Many other properties in Lighthouse Point have gone through the change from a vacant lot or old construction to a magnificent estate home.
