Lauderdale By The Sea

LBTS

As soon as you enter Lauderdale by the sea going north on A1A the scenery changes. The high-rise buildings change to two story hotel/motels that have been in the area for many years. Located between Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale, the little town of only 1.5 square miles and 6,300 permanent residents increases significantly during the winter growing to over 11,000 residents. Positioned between the Atlantic Ocean and the intracoastal there is only one municipal park, a handful of shops and a ton of character maintaining its charm intact from the 40s and 50s.

Most of the architecture of the area dates back to when it was originally built. However, many have made this city their home by tearing-down old residences and building lavish two story homes or townhomes. Most of the waterfront homes in Lauderdale by the Sea have direct ocean access and no fixed bridges making it the perfect location for boaters and those wanting to be a few steps from the beach.

In addition to the small-town feel, Lauderdale by the Sea is home to the famous 50 year old Anglin’s Pier, and the only living Coral Reef that residents and visitors can swim to. Whether it is enjoying fine dining on the beach, dancing on the streets of downtown on Friday nights, or enjoying the local shops and the amenities of the city residents of Lauderdale by the Sea find in this tiny city a whole world of adventure.
