Formed in the late 40s and 50s, the small community of Lakeridge can be considered a more affordable and southern extension of Poinsettia Heights with a similar but more modest architectural style to that of Poinsettia Heights. Lakeridge is surrounded by Sunrise Boulevard on the south, Federal highway on the east, the railroad tracks on the west and NE 13th Street on the north. The community is a composition between single family homes, two-story multifamily complexes, duplexes and a few new construction townhouses in the community. For those few properties on the water, the views are not too short of spectacular. The Lakeridge neighborhood association is very active in promoting the strength focusing on areas for improvements, hosting events for residents, and working closer with community agencies to make this a great neighborhood to live in.
